Social Media Secrets

Social Media Secrets

Jul 05, 2021

Running Authors Aflame has not all been smooth sailing. I’ve had my share of bumps and bruises. It’s been a roller-coaster ride. I’ve gone through times of discouragement and even depression when my business hit all-time lows, but I’ve learned a lot along the way! And I want to share some of what I’ve learned with you today!

Social Media for Coaches, Consultants, Business Owners, and Authors

One thing I’ve come to realize is that social media is vital to coaches, consultants, business owners, and authors. It’s a great way to get your name out there. As today is Social Media Day, I thought I’d cover a few things about social media.

Choose Two Platforms!

Firstly, you want to start out by choosing only two platforms at most to focus on. If you focus on more than these, you’ll find that you’re stretched too thin. Your posts won’t be as great, or, if you are able to do it right on each platform, you’ll spend all your day posting and answering posts, and have no time for growing your business.

Facebook Secrets

Next, I don’t have time to tell you everything I’ve learned today about social media. We’ll save that for a workshop. But I do want to give you as much value as I can in the little space I have, so let’s focus on Facebook today, since Facebook is one of the two platforms you should be focusing on, Instagram being the other.

With Facebook, you want to post four times a day.

What Should You Post?

Your posts should include four things every day.

One Video

It should include one video that is 5-10 minutes long. Make sure that it’s no longer than 10 minutes, so you can upload it to LinkedIn. Your video should:

  • Entertain with a story—Touch the hearts of your people.
  • Educate—Give three tips.
  • Extend an offer—Give away something of value, whether it be your time, a free PDF, or something else.

One Long Post

It should include one long Facebook post. Include white space so it’s not a wall of text and include lots of value!

Post one question daily. Questions get a lot of attention!

  • This can be a straight-up question in your niche.
  • It can be a question created in Canva in an image.
  • It can be a poll.

One Social Proof Post

Create one social proof post daily. Social proof is testimonials or “my client saw this change.” Social proof can include:

  • Pictures (before and after)
  • Video testimonials
  • Video interviews
  • Screenshots of written testimonials
  • Shout-outs to clients
  • Welcomes to new clients/Birthdays, etc.

Solve Problems!

Your social media should help people solve problems! That’s what your social media is for!

The biggest problem that I solve is helping people get their books out there so they can be seen as an authority in their niche! Today, I want to give away a free e-book called, “5 Ways Writing a Book will Cement Your Guru Status.” It tells how to attract clients to you effortlessly and increase your visibility and revenue. About the Author

Nishoni Harvey

Growing up, I never feel like I’m good enough. This follows me into adulthood and is only solidified when I send my first book into publishers to only have them reject me time and time again.

Finally, my mom suggests a publisher in North Carolina. They publish my book, and it sells over 70 books right out of the gate, making it a bestseller, but it soon falls out of the rankings. I don’t know how to keep it there. Again, I feel like a failure.

Since then, I’ve written a chapter for two other published books, published my second fiction book, ghostwritten 16 nonfiction books, and authored two of my own nonfiction, self-help books.

Sometime between then and now, I have a lightbulb moment. I am on another downward swing with my bipolar depression, and I am thinking about how unhappy I am. It’s then that I think how happy I was during my years spent teaching children and teenagers and how much I love writing. “Why not do both?” I think. “I could teach others to write their book!”

I start my business with great motivation and ambition, but the clients don’t come. Depression starts to seep in again, and I start to give up. I keep doing the job that I’m contracted on, formatting a book for a plastic surgeon in Australia, but I drop everything else and start teaching English as a second language.

One day it hits me, Doctor Barnouti is using his book to show that he’s an authority in his niche and gaining clients! I teach others to do that!

Today, I help business owners struggling to get their names out to write their book so they can show themselves as an authority in their niche, get speaking engagements, and reach their ideal client through my business, Authors Aflame.
